It’s been a long time since I set myself some monthly goals, in fact the last ones I set myself were back in April. As it’s been a long time, and I’ve been struggling to stick to things lately, I thought I would give myself another go at setting myself some goals.
Get back to the gym
I was doing really well at sticking to a regular exercise routine, working out about 3/4 times a week and then at the end of July I had a car accident. It wasn’t a big accident, but I’ve injured myself from it. Because of this I’ve struggled to get around, and I can’t walk around much either. I’m determined to get back into shape, and help strengthen my back from the accident. I’m going to take it easy, but hopefully if I go a few times a week I can get back into a routine.
Get back into a blogging schedule
Something else that’s fallen out of a routine, is my blog. Life has been a little chaotic and out of place lately, and I lost my blogging mojo a little too. But since I’ve had my redesign, I’m feeling a lot better about my blog again and I’m keen to get back into a blogging schedule. Once upon a time I used to have a couple of weeks worth of posts organised and scheduled, but lately I’ve been really slack and only had one or two posts scheduled, if that. So it’s time to get myself organised and back on track!
Stop spending money
Lately I’ve been terrible at spending money, often on stupid things I don’t need. It’s not big unnecessary purchases I’m making, but more popping to the Costa next to the office 3 times a week, or buying a chocolate bar, it all adds up. Now Chris is starting a new job this month (YAY for finally being able to talk about this!), we’re going to focus on saving up some money to pay off some debts and save for the next house, and to do this I need to stop spending money. I’m actually putting myself on a spending ban this month, and I’m trying to make plans with friends that don’t involve a whole lot of dolla.
Get back into healthy eating
I feel like this is becoming a list of things Lisa has become terrible at, but something else I’ve got a bit slack on lately too is healthy eating. I was doing so well at eating well, and I even tried quitting sugar for a while, but I let myself fall back into bad habits and it’s time to take back control.
Read a book
I have so many books I want to read, and even a whole load of new books I’ve bought myself, but they are just sitting on my bookcase unread. I don’t give myself enough me time that’s for sure, so in September I want to give myself more time to read, and I plan on finishing a book this month. Maybe I’ll get out of my bad habit of falling asleep watching Netflix and relax with a book at bedtime instead.
So that’s my plans for September! I like to think they’re all pretty manageable, and they should get me back into my old goal achieving ways! Wish me luck…
