Once upon a time I set up this blog in my university bedroom solely as a beauty blog. At the time I had a lot of disposable income and would spend it on makeup, and skincare, and would spend hours on the internet talking to other people about products. As the years went on, my interests changed and I started talking more about other things and I gained an interest in food, and more lifestyle topics, and I slowly stopped buying beauty products. The last few years my income hasn’t been as disposable as I bought a flat, and recently had a baby, and I’ve hardly had an interest in beauty, in fact the last beauty blog post I wrote was back in 2016…
I couldn’t tell you the last time I actually bought any beauty products that wasn’t just simply replacing the current products I had that had run out. But the other day I went for a wonder with the baby and found myself in Boots for the first time in ages. It’s only been a few weeks since I’ve had my daughter, so I’ve not really had a lot of time to myself or to ‘feel like myself’, so I decided to treat myself and pick up a few bits for me.
I first decided to pick up some new skincare products, because the current lack of sleep I’m getting is showing, so if I can find a few products to help me look less tired then I’ll be happy. Soap & Glory do some lovely skincare products, but I’ve never tried out their hot cloth cleanser before so I picked up The Ultimelt. This claims to give you a soft, smooth, radiant face so I’m hoping this will help out my desperately tired looking skin. I then picked up a couple of products from Botanics – the Hydrating Eye Cream and the All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum. I’m hoping these will both help my skin look brighter, and not look like I’ve been up all night with a crying baby.
I have naturally curly hair, but I never really do anything with this as I’ve always thought it was too short to curl naturally. So I wanted to pick up some products to see if I can help my natural curls, and picked up the Umberto Giannini curl range – the Curl Jelly Wash Shampoo, Curl Jelly Care De-Frizz Conditioner, and the Creme De Curl Curl Control Cream. I’m excited to try these out and see if they make a difference to my hair and see if I can embrace my natural curls.
I’m looking forward to trying out my new beauty bits thanks to Boots 3 for 2 offers, and I’m hoping they help make this new mum look less tired and more like herself!
