Once upon a time I set up this blog in my university bedroom solely as a beauty blog. At the time I had a lot of disposable income and would spend it on makeup, and skincare, and would spend hours on the internet talking to other people about products. As the years went on, my interests changed and I started talking more about other things and I gained an interest in food, and more lifestyle topics, and I slowly stopped buying beauty products. The last few years my income hasn’t been as disposable as I bought a flat, and recently had a baby, and I’ve hardly had an interest in beauty, in fact the last beauty blog post I wrote was back in 2016…Read more
You may have guessed by now as a reader of my blog, but I quite like beauty products, and I also love a good pamper. A chance to have some time to myself and be looked after for a hour or so while someone does my hair or my nails, is my idea of heaven. I often set aside an evening once a week to give myself a good pamper; use a face mask, a hair treatment and paint my nails, it helps me to relax and unwind. It’s even more of a pamper when someone else can do this for me, but it’s a rarity that I can get a chance to visit a salon or get my nails done these days, but when I can it’s a real treat.Read more
For years I’ve been a big fan of Benefit’s box blushers since I first bought Hervana, but at £23.50 each they can be quite an expensive obsession. While they are one of the more high-end purchases in my blusher collection, I still love them. The packaging of the boxes are adorable, the shades really suit me, and I’ve yet to find one that I haven’t liked. Although with the expensive price tag, I’ve only purchased a few different shades and tend to wait for one to run out before buying another.
Hi my name’s Lisa and I like makeup, but hey we all knew that by now didn’t we? Yes I like makeup, but sometimes I like it a little too much, and recently I’ve found I have quite a lot of it that’s just making a mess. So I decided it was time to give my makeup a little bit of a spring clean.
For years now my makeup has been living tucked up away inside my dressing table, out of sight and out of mind. Yes my bedroom looks very clean for having it tucked away, but in reality, the drawers have become very messy. Every morning I just grab what makeup I want out of them and then stuff it back in, there’s no organisation to it at all. Not only is it disorganised, but it’s also pretty messy. With bits of loose powder everywhere it’s starting to look a little grubby. You can see below what the sorry state of my makeup drawer was in…
I decided that I needed a good clean out of my makeup, especially as there’s so many products I never use and are just taking up space and creating mess, as well as giving my makeup a good old clean too. To help my makeup look all clean and pretty, as well as hopefully encouraging me to keep it clean, I stored it in an acrylic storage box. I’ve wanted one of these for years, after it seemed like every other blogger had one, but I’ve always been put off because I’m afraid I’ll leave all sorts of sticky fingerprints across it. Not only does my makeup now look more organised, but I can now see my makeup clearly.
Does your makeup also need a good spring clean? Well the lovely folks over at Bedroom Storage are giving away one of these acrylic makeup storage boxes so you can also have a good clean up! The giveaway is open to UK entrants only, and ends on the 9th May. Good luck!

Recently I’ve been thinking a little more about how I treat my body. Not only am I trying to be healthier, and thinking about what I put in my body, but I’m also thinking about how I treat my skin. I never used to put much thought about what I was putting into, and onto my body, but recently I’ve been thinking a little more about it.
