Although I’ve still not quite got a moving date for the flat, I can’t resist picking up little housey things. So far I’ve collected about a million cushions, several pretty signs, and a breadmaker. You know, the practical things. Although we’ve got loads of pretty little bits for the flat, we don’t have the basics like plates, or cups, so I have no idea what we’ll do when we move in. While I’m still picking up pretty things rather than things I need, I spotted these Mason Jar Drinking Glasses and knew I just had to have them!
While I’m still waiting for a moving date I’ve started picking up a few bits for the flat. We’re saving buying the big furniture bits like sofas and wardrobes until we have a date, but I’ve started picking up small bits, and my favourite things to pick up are for the kitchen. I’ve got a few kitchen bits left over from my uni days, but I realised I don’t have some of the simpliest of things, like mugs or glasses. Chris and I have different ideas of what we’d like to buy, but luckily we both agreed on a few things such as these latte glasses from Home Treats UK*.
I’m not a huge coffee drinker, but I do enjoy the occasional latte. I’m thinking of getting a tassimo machine once we’ve moved into the flat so these would be perfect! In the mean time I’m using these with my Chelsea Glass Teapot with infuser from Whittards. The colourful loose leaf teas look so pretty in the plain glass.
I’ve usually been put off buying latte glasses in the past as I thought they were always huge, but these are the perfect size, and they’ll fit perfect with a tassimo machine! They’re also really easy to clean and you can put them in the dishwasher, which is bonus points for me as I hate washing up! They come as a set of 6, which is perfect for having people guests over once we finally move in! But for now while I still wait for a moving date I’m going to continue drinking tea from them.
Now it feels like we’re in full blown autumn weather with the dark evenings, golden leaves on the ground, I’ve even dug out my winter coat. I think autumn is probably my favourite season, where I can break out all my old favourite jumpers, and sit under cosy blankets and no one can judge me. Now the weathers a little colder, my favourite thing to do is sit in my room burning autumn candles and watching Netflix.
One of my favourite candles at the moment is Yankee Candle’s Fireside Treats. It gives off a lovely bonfirey marshmallowy scent that isn’t over powering if you want to leave it to burn for a few hours, I just can’t get enough of it. Another Yankee Candle favourite this time of year is Salted Caramel, although this leaves a very strong scent that drives my mum mad when I burn it. It can be a bit overwhelming, so it’s not one I’d burn for longer than an hour. My Gingerbread Cookie candle from Best Kept Secrets is another favourite for this time of year, it smells exactly like gingerbread, perfect for this time of year.
I just can’t get enough of burning these three candles at the moment, do you have any favourite scented candles you get out at this time of year?
